About This Tour

The Corobici River Safari Float and Llanos de Cortes Waterfall Tour combines wildlife observation, gentle river adventure and time beside one of Guanacaste’s most beautiful waterfalls.

Your experience begins with private pickup from your hotel, resort or vacation rental. Travel in a comfortable air-conditioned vehicle through rural Guanacaste toward the Corobici River near Cañas.

Upon arrival, meet the professional river guide and receive a life jacket, paddle and safety instructions. The approximately two-hour floating experience travels through gentle Class I and II sections suitable for families, seniors and travelers without previous rafting experience.

As the raft moves through the tropical dry forest, your guide will help search the riverbanks and treetops for howler monkeys, white-faced monkeys, iguanas, coatis, river otters and tropical birds. Wildlife sightings vary naturally and cannot be guaranteed.

After completing the river float, enjoy a fresh snack before continuing to Llanos de Cortes Waterfall near Bagaces. A short trail leads to a broad cascade, sandy riverbank and natural pool surrounded by tropical vegetation.

When weather and local conditions permit, guests may swim in the designated area or relax beside the waterfall. The experience also includes a traditional Costa Rican lunch before the private return journey to your accommodation.

This easy nature tour is recommended for families, couples, seniors, birdwatchers and travelers looking for wildlife and scenery without a strenuous hike or intense whitewater rafting.
