About This Tour
The Monteverde Cloud Forest and Selvatura Park Tour offers a full-day nature experience in one of Costa Rica’s most distinctive mountain environments. Travel from Guanacaste to Monteverde and discover the cloud forest from above while walking along Selvatura Park’s famous suspension bridges.
Your day begins with early private pickup from your hotel, resort or vacation rental. Travel in a comfortable air-conditioned vehicle through the Guanacaste countryside and into the mountains, with an included breakfast stop along the route.
Upon arrival at Selvatura Park, begin the hanging bridges experience through the cloud forest. The trail includes eight suspension bridges that range from 57 to 157 meters in length and reach heights of up to 34 meters. The walk is considered moderate and provides panoramic views of the forest canopy, moss-covered trees, ferns and tropical vegetation.
Continue to the Butterfly Garden, where a local guide introduces visitors to more than 30 butterfly species from different regions and elevations of Costa Rica. Learn about their life cycle, feeding habits and role within the tropical ecosystem.
The experience also includes the Reptile and Amphibian Exhibition. Explore specially designed habitats containing frogs, snakes, lizards and other species while learning about their adaptations and importance within Costa Rica’s forests.
Enjoy an included lunch before beginning the private journey back to Guanacaste. Travelers seeking additional adventure may add Selvatura’s canopy tour when making the reservation. The optional canopy includes 13 cables and has separate age, weight and health restrictions.
